Wayzata Men's Cross Country

Metro Invitational History (since 2005)

The Metro Invitational began in 1985 at Lake Nokomis. It was held there through 1993 and after a one year hiatus, moved to Eden Prairie, where it's been hosted ever since. Wayzata began attending annually in 2010, but also competed there in 2005. In 2011 and 2012, Wayzata ran their top runners at the Heartland Classic in Iowa, and in 2013 and 2014, the top group ran at the Mayo Invitational in Rochester. Due to a last minute schedule change, Wayzata competed at the Mayo Invitational in 2023.
